HVAC Division Manager
About the Role
This is a full-time, in-office position. Remote or hybrid schedules are not available. Phoenix, Arizona
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Division Manager to lead, manage, and optimize all aspects of our HVAC division. This position is responsible for overseeing division leadership, managing financial performance, improving operational efficiency, developing teams, and driving strategic growth across both HVAC construction and service operations.
The ideal candidate will bring strong HVAC/MEP industry knowledge, proven leadership experience, financial and operational expertise, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects, teams, and priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor division personnel, including Project Managers, Superintendents, Service Managers, Foremen, and Technicians
- Provide ongoing guidance, training, development, and accountability across the division
- Conduct performance evaluations and support hiring and workforce decisions
- Develop and manage division budgets and ensure financial performance aligns with company goals
- Monitor construction and service operations through project planning, tracking metrics, and KPIs
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement operational improvements
- Conduct monthly financial reviews with the CFO and Controller
- Meet regularly with Project Managers and Service leadership to review job performance and progress
- Provide executive leadership with updates on division performance, challenges, KPIs, and successes
- Forecast manpower and workload requirements based on current and future business needs
- Partner with HR on recruiting, retention, and workforce development strategies
- Ensure HVAC and MEP work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Establish and enforce quality control measures across projects and service operations
- Promote and enforce strict adherence to company safety protocols
- Communicate with senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders regarding project and service updates
- Coordinate with other divisions to support seamless project execution
- Identify operational, project, and service risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies
- Stay current with HVAC industry trends, technologies, and best practices
- Recommend and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- 8 to 10 years of relevant HVAC/MEP experience
- 3 to 5 years of management or leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, construction practices, and service operations
- Strong understanding of applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations
- Experience managing budgets, job costing, and division financial performance
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Strong project planning, scheduling, and manpower forecasting skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and service operations simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficiency with computers and construction or project management software
