Title: Mechanical Estimator

Duration: 1-year contract (high potential for direct hire)

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to support mission-critical data center construction projects. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate, competitive cost estimates in a fast-paced environment, with strong potential to transition into a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical scopes on data center construction projects
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive and competitive proposals
Perform quantity take-offs and analyze labor, material, and equipment costs
Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure alignment with project requirements
Support value engineering efforts and identify cost-saving opportunities
Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating, preferably in construction environments
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and related components
Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools
Excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills
Proven ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
Formal education or professional background in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related discipline), providing a strong technical foundation for estimating complex systems

Preferred Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Prior experience working with a general contractor
Experience supporting mission-critical or data center construction projects is highly desirable
