Mechanical Project Manager – Mission Critical / Data Centers

Location: Kansas City, MO

Duration: 12 months + extensions

Pay Rate: $82-$92/hr

Role Overview

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to support large‑scale, mission‑critical infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on hyperscale data centers. This role will own the mechanical scope from design review through construction, commissioning, and turnover, ensuring systems are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical construction efforts across complex projects, including HVAC, piping, ductwork, chillers, cooling towers, and associated controls systems
Review and interpret mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and controls drawings to ensure constructability and coordination across trades
Manage mechanical scope from bidding and design review through installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout
Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and field teams to resolve RFIs, submittals, change orders, and schedule impacts
Ensure all mechanical installations meet design intent, code requirements, safety standards, and client expectations
Utilize BIM 360 (or similar platforms) to track documentation, field issues, quality items, and project progress

Required Qualifications

7–10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer
Proven experience supporting hyperscale data centers or other mission‑critical facilities (e.g., power plants, oil & gas, industrial plants)
Strong background in mechanical systems including piping, sheet metal, ductwork, chillers, and cooling infrastructure
Hands‑on construction management experience in active jobsite environments
Experience using BIM 360 or comparable construction management software
