We are hiring an experienced Vice President of Sales to lead our HVAC and Plumbing sales organizations across multiple states. You'll be responsible for building, developing, and leading high-performing outside sales teams while driving revenue growth, operational excellence, and a culture of accountability across diverse markets.
Location: Mission, Kansas
Travel Required: Approximately 60%
Salary: $250,000 total compensation ($125,000 base salary + Commissions)
What you'll do:
Lead and develop sales teams - Recruit, hire, train, and mentor outside sales professionals across Kansas, Tennessee, and Florida, building a skilled and motivated sales force capable of driving significant growth
Coach in the field - Conduct regular ride-alongs with sales representatives to provide hands-on coaching, constructive feedback, and real-time guidance that elevates performance and builds confidence
Drive daily excellence - Lead daily huddles and weekly sales meetings to ensure alignment on goals, celebrate wins, share best practices, and maintain consistent momentum across all teams
Build sales infrastructure - Design and implement scalable sales processes, best practices, and performance standards that maximize efficiency and effectiveness across all markets
Optimize pricing and profitability - Support sales teams in pricing negotiations to improve close rates while maintaining healthy margins and sustainable business growth
Leverage technology - Utilize CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and performance dashboards to enhance efficiency, track key metrics, and drive data-informed decision making
Develop strategic initiatives - Create and execute comprehensive sales strategies that meet revenue targets, expand market share, and identify new growth opportunities across HVAC and plumbing services
Foster a winning culture - Build and maintain a high-performance, values-driven sales environment that emphasizes accountability, teamwork, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement
Drive cross-functional collaboration - Partner closely with marketing to increase lead generation and conversion, and work seamlessly with operations, service, and finance teams to streamline efforts and drive overall business success
Champion the customer experience - Ensure all sales efforts align with delivering exceptional customer experiences that build loyalty and generate referrals
What you'll bring:
Multi-state sales leadership - Proven track record of successfully leading sales teams across multiple geographic markets, preferably in HVAC, plumbing, or home services industries
Field-oriented coaching expertise - Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities with a hands-on leadership style that develops high-performing individuals and builds cohesive teams
HVAC/Plumbing industry knowledge - Deep understanding of residential and commercial HVAC and plumbing services, sales cycles, and customer buying behaviors
Data-driven approach - Technologically adept with proficiency in CRM platforms, sales analytics tools, and performance management systems to drive process improvement
Revenue achievement - Demonstrated history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and growing market share in competitive environments
Strategic thinking - Ability to develop and execute long-term sales strategies while remaining agile and responsive to market changes
Exceptional communication - Outstanding negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and influence at all levels of the organization
