Outside Sales Estimator
Rinderle Door Company
Big Bend, WI
Job Summary:
If you're the kind of person who sees a customer problem and genuinely wants to solve it — not just close it and move on — keep reading.
This role is not just sales. It's ownership. You'll build relationships & trust, identify real customer problems, create lasting solutions, and see projects through from first conversation to final invoice. You'll do this alongside our technicians and office team, not around them.
This is technical/mechanical sales. You'll be walking facilities, diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems with doors, docks, and access systems — some of them quite complex — and turning what you find into a clear, accurate quote and solution recommendation. You don't need to be a technician, but you need to think like one.
If you have a mechanical mind and a heart for people, that is the foundation.
Rinderle Door Company has served Southeastern Wisconsin for over 40 years. We've built our reputation by doing what's right and being the team customers trust when it matters.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage relationships with facilities/plant managers, maintenance teams, buildings and grounds managers and business owners
- Walk facilities, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and build accurate quotes from what you find in the field (this is done with a lot of listening)
- Identify issues, risks, and opportunities within doors, docks, pedestrian and automatic doors and access systems (we have a wide range of offerings)
- Create clear scopes of work and accurate estimates
- Manage projects from sale through completion
- Coordinate with technicians and office team to execute work
- Follow up, close out work, and grow your book of business
- Attend trade shows, golf outings, networking events to expand the brand
You are not just selling jobs. You are building long-term customer trust.
What Success Looks Like
- You consistently generate and close your own opportunities
- You learn the products and industry by asking questions and continued education
- Customers trust you and call you because they know you'll solve their issue
- Your jobs are well-scoped, profitable, and run smoothly
- You communicate clearly across customers, technicians, and the office
- Your book of business grows year over year
Who This Is For
You'll thrive here if you:
- Have experience in sales, estimating, project management, or field service
- Are mechanically and technically minded — you can look at a system, figure out what's wrong, and explain it clearly
- Work well in a team and care about those around you
- Are proactive and don't wait to be told what to do
- Can walk into a facility/situation, spot problems, and ask the right questions
- Communicate clearly and build trust quickly
- Take ownership of results, not just activity
- Backgrounds that tend to fit well: commercial door and dock service, mechanical or electrical contracting, industrial maintenance, school services, facilities management, HVAC, construction — anywhere you've had to diagnose problems and estimate solutions in the field
Who This Is Not For
This role requires accountability. It is not the right fit if you:
- Wait for leads instead of creating opportunities
- Avoid difficult conversations or follow-up
- Struggle to stay organized across multiple active projects
- Overpromise and underdeliver
- Are looking for a low-pressure sales role without ownership
What You Get

- A path to grow your skills, relationships, and income
Benefits
