Overview
We are partnered with a leading provider of smart building solutions and HVAC controls services seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead and grow a high-performing regional operation within the building automation industry.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an individual with a strong background in HVAC controls, energy solutions, service operations, and strategic sales leadership. The successful candidate will oversee regional business performance, drive revenue growth, develop sales strategy, and lead operational excellence across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall business performance with full responsibility for regional P&L, sales growth, and operational execution
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans to expand market share and profitability
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales and operations team
- Drive HVAC controls and building automation sales across owner-direct, plan/spec, retrofit, and service markets
- Develop key relationships with end users, consulting engineers, contractors, ESCOs, and strategic accounts
- Establish and manage sales KPIs including pipeline growth, forecasting accuracy, conversion rates, and margin performance
- Identify and penetrate new vertical markets and regional opportunities
- Oversee pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and commercial risk management
- Partner closely with project management and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction
- Represent the business at industry events, customer meetings, and networking functions
- Foster a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement
Ideal Background
- Proven leadership experience within Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC Controls, Energy Services, or Smart Buildings
- Strong track record of growing revenue and leading successful sales teams
- Experience managing both sales and operational functions within a technical services environment
- Demonstrated P&L management experience
- Strong knowledge of the HVAC controls marketplace including mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and owner-direct sales
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term growth and day-to-day operational execution
- Experience developing service-based business models and recurring revenue streams is highly desirable
