General HVAC Engineer II

Position Brief
Responsible for repair and preventive maintenance work on in-house equipment and buildings. Assist in directing activities of HVAC contractors engaged in repair, maintenance and installation activities for properties assigned to them.
Principal Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Chief Engineer to coordinate the activities of support personnel.
- Must have a good working knowledge of Cooling Towers, Pumps, AHU’s, RTU’s, VAV’s, PIU’s, Split Systems and other HVAC equipment.
- Help improve existing procedures by examples and recommendations.
- Assist other operations personnel as needed.
- Facilitate compliance with job specifications, company policy and procedures.
- Set personal goals and document 20 hours of relatable training annually.
- Help implement preventive maintenance programs on mechanical equipment and building maintenance.
- Review work orders to determine work priorities as needed.
- Help with chemical application on cooling towers.
- Assist in executing work activities in a cost-effective manner.
- Provide leadership and direction by example to fellow employees.
- Must have good working knowledge of building automation systems. Tridium and Trane Synchrony experience preferred.
Qualifications, Education & Experience Required
- Five Years HVAC experience in commercial systems preferred.
- Microsoft applications experience preferred.
- Good listening and communication skills are essential to this position.
- CFC certification preferred.
- Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, as needed, as well as variable shifts and emergency on-call rotation.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and/or move equipment ranging from 20 to 35 pounds. Occasionally lift or pull heavier items, weighing from 35 to 80 pounds.
- Maintain sufficient mobility to walk, stand, and work on a ladder for prolonged periods, and to maneuver in tight spaces such as ceiling space and roof access.
- Regularly bend, stoop, crouch, squat, climb, or kneel while installing or repairing equipment.
