A mission-driven organization seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee building operations, maintenance, security, and vendor services while ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming workplace.
What You’ll Do:
People
- Directly supervise on-site maintenance personnel supporting a multi‑building environment
- Partner with Risk Management to coordinate and oversee emergency response planning
- Collaborate with leadership to address facilities issues and operational needs
Operations
- Prepare, manage, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets
- Manage tenant leases and provide annual square‑footage reporting for cost allocation
- Coordinate building layouts and maintain documentation of building systems
- Procure facility supplies including office, janitorial, safety, first aid, AED, uniform, and consumable items
Vendors
- Manage, supervise, and negotiate contracted services such as security, janitorial, landscaping, snow removal, window cleaning
- Support leadership with procurement and oversight of preventive maintenance programs for critical building systems
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have one of the following:
- Maryland state license in HVAC and refrigeration
- Master Plumber or Journeyman license
- Master Electrician or Journeyman license
PLUS:
- High School Diploma; Trade School Certification in Building Operations or equivalent required.
- Five years of facilities management experience (Minimum of 5 years in facilities management).
- Extensive knowledge of all building systems - technical in all areas of building operations
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical drawings, technical publications, and other documents.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer literacy with all MS products, Google Docs, and building automation systems, security systems.
- Ability to make presentations at meetings.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage work assignments that may be extremely broad in scope and incumbent will need to determine and complete specific duties.
