Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Estimator with extensive industry knowledge and experience in commercial and/or national account environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC systems, terminology, and components, along with the ability to accurately assess repair needs and build detailed, accurate estimates. This role requires hands-on familiarity with identifying parts, understanding repair scopes (including open circuit diagnostics and repairs), and determining all materials and labor required to complete the job correctly the first time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely estimates for HVAC service, repair, and replacement projects.
- Review service reports and translate findings into complete and detailed quotes.
- Identify all necessary components for repairs, including understanding what is required for specific issues such as open circuits, compressor failures, refrigerant leaks, etc.
- Determine equipment specifications such as age, tonnage, and system type to ensure proper scope and pricing.
- Collaborate with service technicians and operations teams to validate repair needs and ensure estimate accuracy.
- Support national account customers by meeting specific pricing structures, turnaround times, and service expectations.
- Maintain organized documentation of estimates, parts, and customer communications.
- Assist with parts sourcing and coordination with vendors when needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry, with a focus on estimating, service, or technical support.
- Experience working with national accounts, including understanding of SLAs, pricing expectations, and high-volume workflows.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and industry terminology.
- Ability to identify HVAC parts and understand their role in various repair scenarios.
- Proficiency in determining equipment details such as year, tonnage, and system specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with field and office teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience preparing unit replacement quotes, including reviewing and interpreting submittals for accuracy and scope alignment.
