Your tasks
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Commercial Estimator to join our team in Orlando, United States. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, partnering with sales teams, and managing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine material quantities and labor requirements
- Collaborate with sales teams during the project development phase to provide accurate installation pricing
- Identify and select qualified subcontractors through supplier development and relationship management
- Lead the development of installation costing models and strategies to optimize project efficiency
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and potential challenges
- Prepare and review requests for proposals (RFPs) from subcontractors and suppliers
- Negotiate prices with vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing, and industry standards
- Participate in project handover meetings to ensure smooth transition from estimation to execution
- Continuously improve estimation processes and methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum of 5 years of project management and estimating experience in the construction industry
- Proven experience in building systems and operational processes
- Strong procurement background with a focus on construction equipment and services
- Excellent cost analysis skills and solid financial knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Experience with industry-standard estimating software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in vendor management
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively in team settings
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality estimates
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in design-build construction projects
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and electrical industry installations
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes
- Multi-language capabilities
