The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the Sales team while driving revenue growth, operational performance, and an outstanding customer experience. This role oversees department strategy, KPI performance, workflow improvements, vendor relationships, project execution, and team development to ensure revenue, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction goals are met
What You’ll Do
- Lead the sales department by overseeing KPIs, sales performance, workflow innovation, process improvements, and key vendor relationships.
- Track, report, and analyze weekly, monthly, and annual KPIs, including close percentages, gross profit percentages, leads generated, leads ran, average contract price, revenue per lead, and total contracts sold.
- Develop and manage goals, KPIs, expectations, and performance outcomes for Comfort Consultants and other team members.
- Recruit, hire, develop, coach, and evaluate team members while identifying training needs, development opportunities, and bench strength across assigned departments.
- Create and support effective sales training programs, retention strategies, career paths, cross-training opportunities, and recognition programs. In-field training and visitation is expected of this individual.
- Partner with Marketing to align lead generation, budget needs, campaign performance, and marketing ROI with sales goals.
- Communicate project, inventory, staffing, and capacity updates to appropriate team members to support accurate planning and customer expectations.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns by taking ownership of customer needs, conducting site visits when needed, and ensuring issues are addressed to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Maintain and build relationships with external Account Representatives, Territory Managers, suppliers, and other vendor partners to stay informed on inventory, rebates, promotions, equipment features, and warranty issues.
- Oversee State and Federal Rebate Programs and provide team members with resources to communicate rebate policies and complete rebate paperwork accurately.
- Support system and technology adoption, including ServiceTitan and Sales Builder Pro, to improve workflows, reporting visibility, sales processes, and day-to-day operations.
- Define and support go-to-market pricing, compensation plans, equipment selection, job costing, forecasting, and annual operating planning for assigned departments.
- Participate in manager meetings, share department updates, troubleshoot business needs, and support strategic planning across the leadership team.
Qualifications
- At least 8-10 years experience required in sales leadership
- Will also accept at least 5 years experience in sales leadership if experience is based in home service industry (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
- Experience with home service industry is preferred
- Experience with in-home sales preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Installation, Marketing, Parts, Field Supervisors, vendors, suppliers, and leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, resolve escalated customer concerns, and support teams through changing business needs.
- Experience with ServiceTitan, Sales Builder Pro, CRM tools, reporting systems, or similar platforms preferred.
- Strong understanding of process improvement, workflow development, team accountability, and vendor relationship management.
- Ability to support pricing, forecasting, compensation planning, equipment selection, and department-level strategic planning.
- A valid driver's license with at least 3 years of US driving experience is required, as well as ability to meet company driving requirements.
