Mechanical Design Engineer Thermal Systems

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Thermal Systems Team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in automotive product design and development, with a strong focus on thermal systems and components, including HVAC modules, ducts, hoses, heat exchangers, and related cooling systems.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, validating, and releasing thermal components while working closely with CAE, manufacturing, suppliers, and validation teams to ensure optimal thermal performance, manufacturability, quality, and durability.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop thermal systems and components including:
HVAC Modules
Air Ducts
Hoses
Heat Exchangers
Cooling Modules
Thermal Management Components
Lead product design and development activities from concept through production release.
Design and develop injection molded plastic components and metal components, including:
Material selection
DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
DFA considerations
Tooling feasibility
Perform thermal performance evaluations and support thermal simulations under various operating conditions.
Review and interpret CAE reports and collaborate with CAE teams to implement design improvements.
Create And Maintain
3D CAD models
2D drawings
BOMs
Engineering release documentation
Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and issue resolution activities.
Troubleshoot thermal performance issues throughout product development and production phases.
Work closely with suppliers to review designs, tooling concepts, manufacturing feasibility, and validation requirements.
Participate in DFMEA, DVP&R, design reviews, and engineering change activities.
Ensure compliance with automotive standards, quality requirements, and engineering best practices.
Release designed components as part of the product development process.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in Automotive Thermal Systems Design.
