Job Description
Our client, a global real estate investment and development platform, is seeking a Senior Manager – Smart Buildings & OT Infrastructure. This strategic role blends smart building infrastructure, operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, and network architecture across a large, multi-site portfolio. This position will focus on establishing and enforcing building infrastructure standards, securing connected building systems (BMS/BAS, access control, CCTV, IoT), and ensuring consistency across distributed environments.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role with global scope, partnering across technology, facilities, engineering, and construction teams to align infrastructure design with operational and business priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Define and enforce building network and infrastructure standards across a multi-site real estate portfolio
- Partner with facilities, construction, and property operations teams to support building technology initiatives
- Design and support smart building environments, including BMS/BAS, HVAC systems, access control, and CCTV
- Lead OT cybersecurity efforts for building systems, including segmentation, remote access controls, and risk mitigation
- Design and support building and campus network infrastructure, including IDF/MDF, structured cabling, and multi-site connectivity
- Evaluate and manage vendors and ISPs, including technical and commercial consideration
- Drive standardization of infrastructure and security practices across multiple locations
- Maintain documentation, system inventories, and architecture standards to support operations and compliance
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support for complex infrastructure issues
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate technical requirements into business outcomes
Qualifications
- 10–12+ years of experience in OT infrastructure, smart buildings, or real estate technology environments
- Hands-on experience with building systems (BMS/BAS, HVAC controls, access control, CCTV, IoT devices
- Strong background in network architecture within building or campus environments (segmentation, WAN, wireless, firewalls)
- Experience securing OT environments tied to building systems (BACnet, Modbus, or similar protocols preferred
- Proven ability to develop and enforce standards across multi-site or distributed environments
- Experience working with facilities, construction, or real estate operations teams
- Vendor management experience, including RFPs, ISPs, and system providers
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience supporting multi-site or global infrastructure environments
Preferred:
- Experience in commercial real estate, property operations, or construction environments
- Familiarity with smart building / PropTech ecosystems
- Knowledge of physical security systems, including access control, surveillance, and visitor management
- Experience with wireless technologies, DAS, or managed
- Wi-Fi Industry certifications, such as CCNP, CCIE, CWNA, or similar
