Job Description
The Director of SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) is a senior supply chain leader responsible for orchestrating the integrated planning process across HVAC, plumbing, and appliance product lines. This individual will serve as the central architect of demand-supply balancing strategy, ensuring that customer commitments, inventory investments, and supplier commitments are aligned to support both short-term execution and long-term business growth. Reporting to executive leadership, the Director of SIOP will build and lead a high-performing planning team, drive cross-functional alignment, and deliver a disciplined, data-driven planning cadence that supports position as a trusted OEM distributor.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the end-to-end SIOP process, including monthly planning cycles that integrate demand, supply, inventory, and financial plans.
- Lead the monthly SIOP executive review, facilitating cross-functional alignment among Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Operations to resolve gaps and drive consensus on a unified operating plan.
- Own and develop the demand planning function and metrics, collaborating with Sales and Marketing to produce statistically grounded forecasts across HVAC, plumbing, and appliance categories. Define and monitor SIOP metrics including forecast accuracy, fill rate, days on hand, inventory value, etc. and make recommendations from the data.
- Lead supply planning and partner with Procurement to align commitments with demand signals, managing replenishment, supplier capacity, and lead time variability to maintain targeted service levels and inventory turns.
- Define and monitor key SIOP metrics including forecast accuracy, fill rate, days on hand, inventory value, and supplier on-time delivery; present findings and action plans to executive leadership.
- Partner with Procurement team to align supply commitments with demand signals, managing lead time variability and supply constraints proactively.
- Develop and maintain inventory segmentation strategies that balance service-level requirements with working capital targets across SKUs and product categories.
- Lead scenario planning and what-if analysis to model the impact of demand volatility, supply disruptions, new product introductions, and market changes on inventory and service performance.
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement across the SIOP lifecycle; identify root causes of planning breakdowns to implement corrective actions and partner with IT to advance ERP and planning tool capabilities.
- Build, coach, and develop a team of demand and supply planners, establishing clear performance expectations and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Finance to align the SIOP plan with budgetary targets, ensuring that inventory investments reflect strategic priorities and financial guardrails.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging tools in supply chain and SIOP, bringing relevant innovations to planning practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive supply chain planning experience, with at least 3 years in a senior SIOP, S&OP, or integrated business planning leadership role.
- Experience in OEM distribution, wholesale distribution, or a related product-intensive industry strongly preferred; familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, or appliance categories is a plus.
- Proven track record of designing and leading SIOP or S&OP processes in a multi-product, multi-location environment.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in demand forecasting methodologies, inventory optimization, and supply planning techniques.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and planning tools (e.g., Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, o9, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, facilitate executive-level conversations, and influence without direct authority.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex supply chain data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Experience using AI powered SIOP tools and building a team preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment This position may require over 40 hours per week and includes regular physical activity such as:

- May require occasional travel (if applicable), which involves walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods
