HVAC / Plumbing Estimator – Commercial Mechanical Projects
Location Fort Worth, TX
Reports to the Chief Estimator
We’re hiring an HVAC/Plumbing Estimator to drive preconstruction efforts on large-scale commercial mechanical projects. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution—owning the numbers, mitigating risk, and helping secure high-value work.
What You’ll Do
- Develop detailed estimates for HVAC and plumbing systems across complex commercial builds
- Perform quantity takeoffs, review drawings/specs, and identify scope gaps early—before they become problems
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor/vendor pricing to build competitive bids
- Partner with preconstruction, engineering, and operations teams to align on scope, schedule, and cost strategy
- Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or performance
- Maintain clean documentation of assumptions, clarifications, and cost history
What You Bring
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial HVAC and/or plumbing systems
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, codes, and installation practices
- Proficiency in takeoff and estimating tools (Bluebeam, OST, Trimble, etc.)
- Ability to read construction documents like a pro—nothing slips through
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and deadlines
- Team-oriented communicator who can influence outcomes, not just report numbers
