Our client is in search of an seasoned Sales and Distribution Development Director to join their new U.S. Team. This is the opportunity of a lifetime - to help develop a robust sales and distribution division from scratch. You would have an immediate impact and your opinion will carry immense weight.
Our client is a world-leader in HVAC manufacturing, providing exceptional product with international renown. The challenge: They need support entering the U.S. Market, specifically the Northeast region to start.
They are not hiring a traditional Sales Director.
They are looking for someone who has personally broken into HVAC distributors from scratch and knows how to get conversations going and deals closed.
This role is about opening doors, creating opportunities, and turning cold targets into active distributor partners.
The Challenge
Your #1 responsibility is to enter the distributor channel across the Northeast.
You must have real experience:
- Identifying target distributors
- Generating leads and outreach from zero
- Securing meetings with decision-makers
- Overcoming resistance to new brands
- Converting prospects into distributor partnerships

Your Responsibilities
- Build relationships with HVAC distributors across the Northeast
- Approach and engage new distributor prospects
- Secure meetings with purchasing leaders and executives
- Lead distributor onboarding and early-stage development
- Manage a small regional team supporting execution
- Help drive contractor pull-through via training, pricing, and engagement
Strategy and positioning will be supported by leadership. Your expertise is channel access and real-world execution.
What We’re Looking For
You likely come from:
- HVAC manufacturer channel sales
- Distributor development roles
- Manufacturer rep / multi-line agency
You should already understand:
- Which distributors are viable targets
- How new brands get evaluated and onboarded
- How contractors influence distributor adoption
- How to overcome the “we already carry X” barrier
This is a player-coach role leading a small team (3–5 people).
