Position Overview
Cooney Technologies is seeking a National Accounts Manager to drive strategic growth across key national and regional customers. This role focuses on developing long-term partnerships and delivering engineered HVAC solutions that solve complex system challenges. The ideal candidate brings a consultative sales approach and strong technical understanding of HVAC systems and heat transfer applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field
- 5–10+ years of HVAC sales experience, preferably with engineered or applied products
- Proven success managing national or key accounts
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, coils, and heat transfer applications
- Experience navigating complex sales cycles and large-scale projects
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets
- Lead and support Cooney's national network of manufacturers' representatives, including quarterly business reviews, goal alignment, performance tracking, and joint account planning
- Identify, secure, and expand relationships with large multi-site customers (healthcare, higher education, commercial, industrial) - engaging facility leaders, engineering teams, and procurement decision-makers
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and long-term agreements
- Influence specifications with consulting engineers and design-build firms
- Promote Cooney’s portfolio, including custom coils, heat exchangers, and smart HVAC technologies
- Represent Cooney at industry trade shows, customer events, and technical presentations to build pipeline and brand presence
- Travel nationally (approximately 50%) to support customer engagement, project development, and field activity
- Collaborate with internal engineering and applications teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM activity (e.g., Pipedrive)
