Industrious is the largest premium flexible workspace company in the world, operating over 250 locations across 10 countries as part of the CBRE portfolio. We design workplaces where teams feel welcomed, supported, and able to do their best work. The same principle guides how we work together as a company.
About the Role
You will step in as the strategic and operational facilities leader for our 47-location West Region, acting as a trusted partner to regional leadership and a player-coach to your team. Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Launch, you will own the physical health of our spaces, manage a multi-million dollar budget, and ensure every location delivers a flawless, premium experience.
What Might Your Day Look Like
Your morning starts visiting one of our LA locations, not because anything is on fire, but because that is how you stay ahead of the fires. You walk the space with the Manager, checking in on the health of the location, reviewing open FEXA tickets, and making sure nothing small is about to become something big.
They mention that members have been complaining about temperature inconsistency in the east-facing suites, though you already clocked the zoning issue when you walked in. You try your best to fix the issue yourself, but ultimately arrange for our HVAC contractor to come out at short notice to fix the problem.
After lunch, you are sitting down with the Regional Director and a Design & Construction lead to review the scope on an upcoming Santa Monica location refresh. The conversation quickly shifts to budget and a proposed vendor comes up. You push back because you have used them before in the Pacific Northwest and their post-install support fell apart. Fortunately you’ve got a strong vendor network in the region and are able to recommend two other firms that you know can do a great job.
You end your day on a call with one of your Facilities Managers who is stuck in a vendor dispute. A contractor is claiming scope creep on a recent HVAC repair and holding the invoice over the team. Rather than taking it off their plate, you walk them through the original SOW line by line, helping them identify where the contractor's argument falls down and how to respond in writing. It takes longer than handling it yourself, but developing your team is as much a part of your role as anything else.
What You Will Own
- Strategic leadership of facilities operations across a 47-location regional portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and acting as a trusted peer to senior leaders.
- Full accountability for a multi-million dollar OpEx and CapEx budget, balancing strict cost control with smart investments in preventative maintenance.
- Partnership with the Design & Construction and Launch teams as new locations open across the West, ensuring every site is operationally ready from day one
- The growth and development of a team of Facilities Managers and Field Technicians, building a high-performing unit that embodies ownership and customer focus.
- Vendor and partner relationships at scale, negotiating contracts and driving accountability across multiple markets to deliver consistency.
- Crisis management and business continuity across the region, guiding teams through emergencies with composure and swift resolution.
You Will Love This Role If...
- You thrive in a player-coach dynamic, happily rolling up your sleeves to fix an immediate issue while simultaneously mapping out a long-term regional strategy.
- You have a white-glove mentality and understand that communicating with the member is just as important as fixing the plumbing. You would never walk past a problem without acting on it.
- You are highly analytical and comfortable reading proposals, reviewing architectural drawings, and managing complex P&L statements.
- You are energised by autonomy. Your manager is not in the same city, and that suits you fine. You are self-directed, comfortable making judgment calls, and do not need someone looking over your shoulder to do your best work.
- You possess the maturity and composure to present a capital recommendation to senior leadership in the morning and hustle a vendor on the phone in the afternoon, and you see no contradiction in that.
This Role Is Probably Not for You If...
- You prefer a remote-first or desk-bound role. This position requires you to be out in the field across Los Angeles four days a week, and that is not negotiable.
- You have only ever managed a single building or site and are not used to the triage and travel required for a sprawling multi-state portfolio.
- You view facilities purely as a technical function and find it frustrating to balance member experience and hospitality with your maintenance work.
- You need close day-to-day management to feel supported. This team operates with a high degree of independence, and thrives because of it.
What We Are Looking For
- 5 to 8 years of facilities and business operations experience, specifically managing a multi-site portfolio in retail, hospitality, or premium commercial real estate.
- Proven experience managing direct reports, including performance management, coaching, and scheduling.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge, specifically HVAC, electrical, and access controls, as well as general appliance and beverage equipment.
- Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills
- Experience managing regional OpEx and CapEx budgets exceeding $1M.
- Hands-on experience with FEXA or a comparable ticketing and CMMS platform.
