Role Description
The Vice President – General Manager (VP/GM), HVAC is responsible for company-wide HVAC business leadership, with direct General Manager accountability for the Inland Empire branch (Corona). This role carries full P&L ownership, operational responsibility, and strategic leadership across operations, engineering, sales, and execution—while operating within a matrixed, multi-trade enterprise.
This position is a planned leadership transition following the acquisition of the Inland Empire HVAC business. Over a defined 12-month transition period, the VP/GM will work in close partnership with the current EVP HVAC to ensure continuity of customer relationships, team culture, and operational excellence—while progressively assuming full leadership and decision-making responsibility for the business.
The objective is clear: a thoughtful, respectful, and deliberate transfer of ownership of the business—operationally, commercially, and culturally—without disruption to customers, employees, or performance.
Transition & Partnership Philosophy
This role is intentionally designed as a shared leadership bridge, not an abrupt handoff.
During the transition period, the VP/GM will:
- Partner closely with the current EVP HVAC to absorb institutional knowledge, customer relationships, and operational nuances
- Honor what has made the business successful while aligning it with enterprise standards, systems, and future growth objectives
- Gradually assume full accountability for decisions, performance, and leadership
By the conclusion of the transition period, the VP/GM will have full ownership of the HVAC business, with the former EVP HVAC transitioning into an advisory or alternate role as determined by the company.
