Overview
Our client is growing and looking for a
skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Estimator to join their team in
Las Vegas, NV. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating
new construction HVAC projects, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to deliver
competitive and accurate bids.
Key Responsibilities
Plan & Spec Review
- Review architectural, mechanical, and HVAC drawings
- Study project specifications, addenda, and bid instructions
- Identify scope requirements, exclusions, and special conditions
- Clarify design intent and flag missing or conflicting information
Cost Estimating & Pricing
- Price materials, equipment, labor, and subcontracted work
- Apply labor rates, production factors, and burden
- Factor in permits, overhead, profit, bonding, and insurance
- Build competitive and accurate bids within deadlines
Vendor & Supplier Coordination
- Request and review quotes from equipment suppliers and vendors
- Compare pricing, lead times, and alternatives
- Negotiate pricing when possible
- Confirm equipment selections meet project specifications
Value Engineering
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing performance
- Propose alternate systems or materials
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers
Bid Preparation & Submission
- Compile complete bid packages
- Write scope letters and exclusions
- Submit bids via GC portals or directly to general contractors
- Track bid due dates and follow up after submission
Communication & Collaboration
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams
- Attend pre-bid meetings and project walkthroughs
- Answer GC and engineer questions during the bidding process
- Provide project handoff notes when a job is awarded
Record Keeping & Reporting
- Maintain bid logs and estimating databases
- Track historical costs for future estimates
- Update pricing and labor units as needed
