Jackrabbit AC is seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead and scale our HVAC operations in the Fort Myers market. This role is responsible for overall business performance, including operations, financial results, team leadership, customer experience, and growth initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong HVAC industry knowledge with proven leadership and business management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day HVAC operations including service, maintenance, and installation
- Ensure scheduling, dispatch, and job execution are efficient and profitable
- Maintain high standards for workmanship, safety, and code compliance
- Implement and optimize SOPs across operations
Financial & Business Management
- Own P&L performance, budgeting, and cost control
- Drive revenue growth through pricing strategy, capacity planning, and operational efficiency
- Monitor KPIs such as average ticket, close rate, gross margin, callback rate, and labor efficiency
- Work with ownership on forecasting and strategic planning
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable managers, technicians, installers, and office staff
- Recruit, hire, and retain top talent
- Build a performance-driven culture focused on accountability and growth
- Conduct regular performance reviews and training initiatives
Sales & Customer Experience
- Ensure an exceptional customer experience from first call to job completion
- Support sales efforts, including technician sales training and close-rate improvement
- Handle escalated customer issues and resolve them professionally
- Protect and enhance the Jackrabbit AC brand reputation in the local market
Process Improvement & Growth
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and scalability
- Implement new tools, systems, or processes as needed (CRM, dispatch software, reporting)
- Support expansion initiatives such as additional crews, new services, or market growth
Qualifications
Required
- 7+ years of HVAC industry experience
- 3+ years in a leadership role (GM, Operations Manager, Service Manager, or similar)
- Strong understanding of residential HVAC operations, pricing, and margins
- Proven experience managing teams and driving performance
- Financial acumen with experience owning or managing a P&L
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred
- Experience in a high-growth or private-equity-backed HVAC company
- Familiarity with Florida HVAC regulations and market conditions
- Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service software
