Job Description
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Mechanical Operations Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Orlando, FL. In this high-impact leadership role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of a multi-million-dollar commercial construction project, from preconstruction through closeout. You will lead project teams, ensure safety and quality compliance, and drive operational performance on a nationally visible build.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations and long-term planning for the business unit
- Oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel
- Assign drafting resources and implement quality control processes
- Review pricing for change orders and contract modifications
- Conduct project review meetings on billing, cash flow, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with insurance, bonding, safety, and security protocols
- Mentor and evaluate team performance, support talent development
- Promote strong collaboration between project and field teams to drive client satisfaction
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an Operations Manager in commercial HVAC and plumbing
- 8+ years of leadership in large-scale commercial construction (e.g., hospitals, campuses, high-rise buildings)
- Proven experience managing projects valued at $20M+
- Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills
- Skilled in multi-project supervision and risk management
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
- State plumbing license or equivalent experience
- Safety certifications highly preferred

- Salary: $101,610 – $135,640
