New Generation Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Plumbing/HVAC Service Estimator to support its growing service operations.
Position Summary:
This key role is responsible for evaluating Commercial Plumbing/HVAC service customer needs, developing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring clear, timely communication of project scopes, timelines, and pricing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, a commitment to exceptional customer service, and the ability to drive operational efficiency and client satisfaction across all service projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer Plumbing/HVAC service requests and develop comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Work closely with service technicians, project managers, and vendors to gather pricing and scope details.
- Prepare and present written proposals and quotes to customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Update and maintain estimate templates, pricing databases, and documentation.
- Communicate with customers to clarify project requirements and ensure understanding of the proposed services.
- Support scheduling and dispatching by providing Commercial Plumbing/HVAC job details and special requirements.
- Follow up on pending estimates and collaborate with sales/service teams to close opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Participate in job walk-throughs and site visits as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required;
- 2+ years of estimating experience in a Commercial Plumbing/HVAC service environment.
- Strong understanding of job costing, pricing, and quoting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with estimating software a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, or facilities maintenance services.
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced service environment.
- Knowledge of service dispatch systems or field service software.
