Service Technician
Applied Climate Solutions is an HVAC manufacturer's representative and building automation solutions provider serving building owners, engineers, and contractors. Primary Duties
This role is responsible for general and specialized tasks related to HVAC equipment startup, warranty support, service repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide startup and warranty support for factory equipment supplied by ACS.
- Coordinate warranty claims with manufacturers and service partners.
- Manage parts procurement and coordination with manufacturers.
- Perform diagnostics, service, and upgrades on electronic controllers (e.g., MCS controllers).
- Manage large service projects, including subcontractors, materials, parts, and scheduling.
- Conduct mechanical and electrical inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as oiling, belt adjustments, equipment cleaning, and greasing.
- Diagnose equipment issues and identify service requirements using technical expertise and system knowledge.
- Prepare preventive maintenance reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Advise clients on additional services that may improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Assist in developing processes and procedures for the growing service department.
- Serve as a professional company representative to contractors, building owners, and trade partners.
- Complete and submit required documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Coordinator or Service Manager.
- Participate in factory training programs to maintain knowledge of ACS products and equipment.
- Travel as needed for national account projects and training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of three (3) years of journey-level experience maintaining, repairing, and operating HVAC equipment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, tools, and repair methods used in commercial and residential applications.
- Thorough understanding of HVAC system operations and industry safety practices.
- Proven ability to diagnose equipment issues and determine necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Strong customer-service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities.
- Proficiency with computers and software applications commonly used in HVAC service operations.
Compensation
- $75,000 – $95,000 annually, plus bonus opportunities.
