#### Summary:
Maintain, repair and replace heating, ventilating and air cooling equipment, including kitchen ventilation and refrigeration equipment.
#### Responsibilities:
- Maintains, repairs and replaces heating, ventilating and air cooling equipment, including kitchen ventilation and refrigeration equipment.
- Makes continuous rounds of inspection to check fans, motors, dampers, vents and other parts; digital control systems components, and trouble-shoots HVAC systems on computerized digital control systems.
- Trouble-shoots direct digital control systems including sensors, controllers, control programs and communication systems; coordinates issues and resolutions with HVAC Supervisor and HVAC Lead Technicians and performs any related work as required.
- Assesses equipment needs, communicates, and assists HVAC Supervisor in the purchase of required equipment.
- Works with outside contractors and vendors.
- Carries out oral and written directions. Accurately documents work performed on work orders defining problem and solution. Enters time worked and Work Order documentation accurately on district time keeping and work order system platforms.
- Communicates and coordinates problem resolution with schools, district staff and outside contractors.
- Conducts preventative maintenance and inspects HVAC systems and equipment, including kitchen ventilation and refrigeration equipment for maintenance and safety issues; makes repairs as required or provides recommendations to the District for correction.
- Respond as essential personnel in case of an emergency, weather or environmental event, and/or school/facility/district closure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
#### Qualifications:
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years HVAC experience.
- Minimum of 1 year vocational HVAC education, apprenticeship or equivalent.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Communicates (reads, writes, and speaks) in English.
- Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
- Constantly reaching, bending, stooping, ability to climb ladders, and be on your feet 8 hours/day.
- Lifting 60-80 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Asbestos training within 90 days.
- Obtain lift certification within 6 months.
