We are seeking a forward-thinking and inclusive Environmental Manager to lead, shape, and implement environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across our national operations including 28 distribution centers and 229 store locations. This individual will ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations and company policies while supporting our mission to reduce environmental impact through innovative and equitable sustainability practices. This job will be located at the Lennox LII SCL Headquarters.
The ideal candidate is passionate about environmental stewardship and is capable of building scalable compliance frameworks that integrate both regulatory rigor and corporate responsibility.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure compliance with air, waste, energy, and water regulations and all applicable operating permits across diverse facility types and geographic locations.
- Monitor and interpret environmental legislation; assess operational impact and develop response strategies.
- Develop and manage documentation systems to track regulatory and permit compliance.
- Coordinate and submit required reports for environmental permits and compliance obligations.
- Prepare for, facilitate, and respond to internal and external audits; develop corrective action plans as necessary.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, handling inquiries, inspections, and negotiations effectively and professionally.
- Coordinate with environmental professionals across all regions, setting clear priorities, project goals, and personal development plans.
- Champion organization-wide understanding of environmental compliance requirements, tools, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to implement and report on sustainability initiatives, including waste diversion, emissions reduction, and resource conservation.
- Advance inclusive environmental practices, ensuring that sustainability programs are equitable and reflective of the diverse communities we serve.
- Align with Corporate EHS on key initiatives particularly on Resource Advisor Validation Reports.
- Travels to various Distribution Centers and Lennox stores to verify or establish protocols.
- Strong understanding of Safety and Health and collaborates with management and employees to promote a robust safety culture.
- Spill/Release Response
- Maintains files and records including material safety data sheets and other paperwork ensuring compliance.
- Provides training and education on environmental and safety practices for employees, including training Safety Technicians on standard environmental practices.
- Assist in conducting and documenting safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective procedures.
- Investigates accidents, incidents, releases, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Monitors compliance EHS against City, State, and Federal (Province) regulations standards.
- Analyzes safety data and prepares reports on EHS performance.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related technical field is required.
- Advanced degree (MS, MBA, or equivalent) is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental compliance programs, with emphasis on Air, Waste, Wastewater. Recycling, Sustainability, Chemical and SDS Management. Safety and Health Management Systems. Phase I and Phase II. Process Safety Management, eGGRT, and PCR experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multi-site environmental compliance and sustainability programs.
- Extensive regulatory knowledge including:
- RCRA, TCEQ Waste Regulations, and STEERS Online Reporting
- Tier II and Toxic Release Inventory Reporting
- TPDES Permitting and Local Wastewater Reporting
- Federal NSR and Applicable State Air Permitting Programs
- TSCA, Chemical Storage, and Chemical Management
- EPA PPCRA Emergency Planning & Community Right To Know Act
- Familiarization or willing to learn Canadian Regulations

Skills:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to lead distributed teams.

- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and managing time across in-person and remote responsibilities as needed.
Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $112,000-$147,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
