Role Summary
The Engineering Manager will lead and oversee all mechanical engineering projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and performance across the department. This role is responsible for managing design processes, developing engineering capabilities, and driving continuous improvement within the team.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise along with proven leadership experience to effectively manage multiple projects, mentor team members, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and take accountability for all engineering designs and deliverables produced by the team
- Manage full-cycle design and layout of mechanical engineering projects
- Develop detailed engineering designs, along with conceptual and presentation-level plans
- Apply expertise in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems across projects
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all engineering documentation
- Act as the primary point of contact for external consultants, vendors, and partners
- Coordinate engineering team schedules in alignment with project timelines
- Participate in client meetings, including design, pre-construction, and post-construction discussions
- Establish, implement, and maintain engineering standards and best practices
- Mentor, train, and evaluate engineering staff to support their professional growth
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality expectations are met
- Utilize tools such as Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD for design coordination and execution
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role
- Strong background in mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, and plumbing
- Proficiency in Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license meeting company requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
