Facilities Operations Manager
The Facility Operations Manager plays a critical role in maintaining a high-performing, safe, and efficient workplace environment. This individual is accountable for building systems oversight, continuous improvement initiatives, capital planning, and the leadership of the site maintenance function. The position ensures the facility operates reliably while making driving enhancements that support productivity and long-term operational goals.
Responsibilities
Site & Infrastructure Oversight
Direct the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related infrastructure. Ensure the facility remains fully operational and aligned with business requirements.
Environmental Health & Safety Partnership
Maintain adherence to all regulatory and internal safety standards. Collaborate with environmental health and safety leadership to investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective measures.
Contractor & Service Provider Coordination
Identify, evaluate, and manage external vendors and contractors. Oversee performance, service quality, timelines, and cost control for all outsourced facility work.
Capital Planning & Cost Optimization
Develop and prioritize capital expenditure initiatives. Prepare project justifications, budgets, and implementation plans while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Operational & Process Enhancement
Lead improvement efforts across facility and manufacturing operations. Oversee projects from initial concept and quoting through execution, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
New Product & Process Validation
Support the evaluation and testing of new products to determine optimal production configurations that ensure quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
Team Leadership & Development
Provide direct supervision to the maintenance team. Promote accountability, collaboration, and professional growth while building technical capability within the department.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Professional Experience
- Background in facilities leadership or a comparable technical environment
- Working knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance, and repair strategies
- Experience applying structured continuous improvement methodologies within a manufacturing or engineering setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex projects
