You’ll work closely with field teams, engineering, and clients while leveraging modern CAD/BIM tools and proven construction processes.
You will join a well-established mechanical construction contractor and lead HVAC and plumbing work across commercial, industrial, and healthcare environments. This role focuses on shorter-duration, fast-turnaround, and technically diverse projects, often supporting active facilities, expansions, retrofits, and high-priority client needs.
The Role
You will manage multiple mechanical special projects simultaneously, balancing speed, quality, safety, and financial performance. Projects typically range in size and scope, requiring strong coordination, decisive leadership, and excellent client communication.
This is a hands-on role well suited to a Project Manager who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys delivering solutions in occupied and mission-critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple HVAC and plumbing special projects, including renovations, retrofits, and fast-track work.
- Problem solve on complex technical projects to deliver against demanding customer needs.
- Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, and contract compliance
- Coordinate closely with field leadership to plan labor, sequencing, and execution
- Supervise and support Project Engineers and site leadership
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost codes, and schedules of values
- Procure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services efficiently
- Review and manage change orders, RFIs, and scope clarifications
- Prepare progress billings and review subcontractor payment applications
- Maintain strong cost controls, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Ensure safety policies and quality standards are upheld across all projects
- Collaborate with design teams on design-build and design-assist scopes
- Build strong client relationships to support repeat and ongoing work
- Lead project closeout, warranty completion, and retainage recovery
Financial & Commercial Accountability
- Own financial performance from project award through closeout
- Track costs against budget and produce accurate forecasts
- Support proactive billing strategies to maintain healthy cash flow
- Prepare end-of-project cost analyses and lessons learned
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 3–5+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction
- Strong HVAC and plumbing systems knowledge
- Experience with renovations, occupied facilities, or fast-track projects preferred
- Familiarity with design-build and design-assist delivery models
- Proficiency with construction management, scheduling, and CAD/BIM tools
- Strong negotiation skills around change orders and scope adjustments
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Professional, confident communicator with clients and project teams
