Mechanical Salesperson – HVAC & Plumbing Specialty
Location: Phoenix, AZ
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Mechanical Salesperson with a strong background in plumbing to grow our commercial and industrial service and construction business throughout the Phoenix metro area. This role focuses on developing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and identifying plumbing-related opportunities across mechanical systems.
The ideal candidate understands the local mechanical market, speaks the language of contractors and facility teams, and can confidently guide customers from opportunity identification through contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a pipeline of commercial and industrial plumbing opportunities
- Identify, pursue, and close new business within service, tenant improvement, and construction markets
- Build long-term relationships with general contractors, property managers, facility owners, and developers
- Collaborate with estimating, operations, and project teams to develop competitive and accurate proposals
- Conduct job walks, scope reviews, and client meetings to understand project needs and timelines
- Promote plumbing solutions including new construction, retrofits, renovations, and service agreements
- Track leads, forecasts, and sales activity using CRM and internal reporting tools
- Stay current on local market trends, competitors, and upcoming projects
- Support contract negotiations and ensure smooth handoff from sales to operations
- Represent the company professionally at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings
Qualifications
- Proven sales experience within mechanical or plumbing construction and/or service markets
- Strong technical understanding of commercial plumbing systems and applications
- Established network within the Phoenix construction, property management, or facilities market preferred
- Ability to read and understand plans, scopes of work, and project documentation
- Self-motivated with strong follow-through and time management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally
