Job Summary:
Are you an experienced Mechanical Estimator with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of mechanical HVAC systems? CT Mechanical is seeking a dedicated Mechanical HVAC Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
- Review Plan and Specs to ensure that the estimates are in compliance with initial bid docs and send RFI’s
- Review and evaluate cost estimates for HVAC systems and related mechanical components.
- Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects to ensure accurate and complete estimates.
- Prepare detailed estimates and purchase orders for all products and services.
- Ensure timely completion of estimates and meet strict deadlines.
- Understand the scope of work to bid and develop comprehensive cost analyses.
- Manage bid pricing from all vendors and establish strong working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as necessary to gather data and ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimating process and improve accuracy
- Attend Pre-bid meetings
- Follow-up on completed bids and obtain feedback to baseline and enhance our bids with stronger cost analysis
- Turnover or hand off the awarded bids to Operations for Project Management team control
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Three (3) years’ experience in construction estimating, preferably in the HVAC or mechanical contracting industry.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, architectural plans, and specifications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Applied Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, particularly related to HVAC systems.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and estimating software, outlook, Adobe and Bluebeam.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills and strong math skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality estimates and maintaining strong vendor and GC relationships.
