Position Overview

The Service Estimator is a vital member of our Service Department, focusing on inside sales to deliver accurate, timely, and profitable pricing proposals for HVAC service projects. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and building strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-centric, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Create precise, competitive cost estimates and pricing proposals for HVAC service projects, including repairs, maintenance, and unit replacements.
Ensure all proposals and pricing documents fully comply with contractual and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with Service Technicians to gather accurate project details for estimating.
Engage with customers to understand their needs, address inquiries, and foster relationships to drive sales.
Build and maintain vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing and timely material availability.
Use Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel to produce professional proposals and manage project communications.
Adapt to changing priorities, managing multiple tasks with precision and efficiency.
Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and customer interactions for seamless project transitions.

Qualifications

Deep knowledge of HVAC equipment, materials, and repair techniques.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging customers, vendors, and teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for estimating and workflow management.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and reliability.
Proven customer service and relationship-building skills to support inside sales goals.
Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

Experience creating estimates based on project assessments or specifications.
Familiarity with quoting HVAC unit replacements.
Knowledge of chiller systems is a plus.
Understanding of purchasing processes and vendor coordination.
