Fortis is looking for a Full-Time HVAC Apprentice for our Philadelphia shipyard project. Also willing to travel to other sites. HVAC Apprentice is responsible for the inspection and control of all preventive maintenance and repair of building and facility mechanical systems and related services associated with the Philadelphia facilities. The HVAC Apprentice must foster teamwork, cooperation, and results while monitoring efficiency, productivity and be fiscally responsible. This position requires practical skills and knowledge in the HVAC trade and electrical work.
The following are key responsibilities associated with this position:
- Knowledge of contractual requirements and creation of schedules to maintain properly skilled staffing levels to satisfy those schedules.
- Utilizes T-sheets timekeeping daily, logging in and out for lunch.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and maintain organization.
- Maintains, repairs, and ensures all equipment is in proper working condition including HVAC systems, water treatment systems and various other mechanical systems.
- Ability to be the onsite supervisor/Quality control for maintenance projects and preventive maintenance...
- Orders replacement items through purchasing and works with vendors regarding repairs to existing equipment.
- Submits receipts on a weekly basis to the corporate office for processing.
- Perform any additional duties on an "as required" basis where such duties are within the scope of contractual responsibilities.
- Issue reports and summaries as required.
- Maintain appropriate records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
- Resolves clients' concerns, conducts follow-up calls and makes onsite visit inspections for satisfactory job performance.
- Create estimates as needed. Help with administrative tasks as needed.
- Willing to travel to different sites.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ years’ experience in the Operations & Maintenance of building operation
- Proficiency with MS Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Possess outstanding written and oral communication skills.
