Job Title: HVAC Estimator
Location: Cinnaminson, NJ
Salary: $130-$160K
We are a leading mechanical contractor specializing in large-scale, ground-up commercial construction projects across New Jersey and the surrounding areas. With a reputation for quality workmanship, strong client relationships, and delivering projects on time and within budget, we’re seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to join our growing team.
As an HVAC Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects from concept through to final proposal. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to analyze project requirements, evaluate costs, and provide detailed bids that reflect both accuracy and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings for HVAC scope of work.
- Perform quantity take-offs, material and labor pricing, and subcontractor/vendor outreach.
- Develop detailed and competitive cost estimates for ground-up commercial projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with project goals.
- Prepare proposals and bid submissions within tight deadlines.
- Track and update project costs throughout pre-construction phases.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an HVAC Estimator (commercial projects preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation methods.
- Familiarity with estimating software and tools (e.g., Trimble, Bluebeam, QuickPen, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
