National Account Manager

Our client is a leading distributor specializing in safety equipment, tools, and gear for a broad range of B2B within the industrial, commercial, construction, and energy sectors. The Position
The National Account Manager will drive revenue and margin growth by leading and advising teams to expand market share and strengthen marquee national client partnerships within the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing sectors. This consultative role focuses on relationship building, strategic pricing, and process improvements to not only expand existing client partnerships, but to also target new enterprise customers.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Drive upsell and cross-sell growth by analyzing market trends and identifying business opportunities with long-standing enterprise mechanical and HVAC customers.
- Grow the book of business by identifying target customers and successfully hunting new accounts within the MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) sectors.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, positioning as a trusted strategic partner while enhancing overall customer experience.
- Continuously expand product, brand, and industry expertise while collaborating with vendors to support business growth and customer success.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing, to create effective strategic relationship plans.
Qualifications and Candidate Background
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years of B2B sales experience. Familiarity with safety equipment and PPE is preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience in sales with a successful track record of managing and growing national accounts.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strategic thinking ability with a goal-oriented mindset and the capability to deliver sales goals.
Compensation
Compensation structure is base + commission. Base salary ranges from $75K-$85K, with potential for flexibility for the right fit/right person.
Location
The position will require 30-50% domestic travel.
