Company is seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Technician with extensive experience in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
The role involves installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VRV/VRF systems, DX air conditioning units, air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, evaporative cooling systems, humidifiers, and de-humidifiers.
The successful candidate must also have strong electrical experience for wiring, connections, and commissioning of systems while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Minimum requirements:
- N6 qualification with Trade Test in Refrigeration, HVAC or Electrical systems preferred.
- Valid refrigeration technician license (advantage).
- Electrical certification (advantage).
- HIRA and Legal Liability certification (compulsory).
- Minimum 8 years post trade test experience working with VRV/VRF systems, DX AC units, DX air handling units, evaporative cooling systems, humidifiers, chillers and de-humidifiers.
- Salary offer: R25K
- Proficiency in piping installation, brazing, flaring and insulation.
- Experience installing cable trays and cable trunking.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC systems and electrical wiring.
- Proficient in diagnostic tools, hand tools and testing equipment.
- Ability to read drawings, technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team | Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if required.
- Install, commission, maintain and repair VRV/VRF systems, DX AC units (single, multiple, split, cassette, under-ceiling types).
- Work on DX air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, evaporative cooling systems, humidifiers and de-humidifiers.
- Perform wiring, electrical connections and commissioning of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Execute piping installation, brazing, flaring and insulation to high quality standards.
- Install cable trays, trunking and related accessories.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement effective solutions.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance for efficient and safe system operation.
- Perform system testing and inspections after installations or repairs.
- Maintain detailed service and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients.
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers and project managers.
- Stay updated with HVAC, refrigeration and electrical industry advancements.
