Job Title: Regional HVAC Lead Technician
Location: Virginia Beach
Reports to: R&M Manager
Basic Purpose
The Regional HVAC Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and optimizing HVAC system performance across a portfolio of hotel properties. This role serves as the company’s HVAC subject matter expert, ensuring system reliability, energy efficiency, and consistent guest comfort standards. The position combines hands-on technical expertise with regional leadership, supporting property engineering teams, standardizing processes, and driving preventative maintenance and capital improvement initiatives.
Organizational Scope
This position operates at a regional level, supporting multiple hotel properties across the Harrison Group portfolio. The Regional HVAC Lead Technician partners closely with Property Engineers, General Managers, and Corporate Leadership to ensure HVAC systems are operating efficiently and consistently. This role provides technical guidance, establishes standardized processes, and plays a key role in capital planning and vendor management related to HVAC systems.
Essential Functions
- Oversee HVAC system performance across all assigned properties to ensure consistent operation and optimal guest comfort.
- Establish, implement, and enforce preventative maintenance programs for all HVAC systems.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and hands-on support for complex HVAC issues.
- Train, coach, and develop property-level engineering teams on HVAC systems, maintenance practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Develop and standardize HVAC-related SOPs and operational processes across all properties.
- Assist in capital planning, including system upgrades, replacements, and long-term asset management.
- Oversee HVAC-related projects, ensuring timely execution, quality standards, and budget adherence.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring service quality, responsiveness, and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and implement energy efficiency initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve system performance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable EPA, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Support emergency response efforts and provide on-call technical assistance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in HVAC or related field preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience; hospitality or multi-property experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems.
- Experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy management systems.
- Previous experience supporting or leading multiple locations or teams preferred.
Certifications
EPA Certification required; additional HVAC or trade certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent walking, standing, bending, and working in mechanical rooms, confined spaces, and rooftop environments. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions is expected. Must be able to safely use tools and equipment associated with HVAC maintenance and repair.
