The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Manager provides day-to-day leadership for HVAC Leads, HVAC Technicians, and assigned personnel engaged in installing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying HVAC systems and related controls across university facilities.
The role combines technical expertise with planning, scheduling, and administrative oversight to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of HVAC systems, in compliance with university standards, codes, and applicable regulations.
The HVAC Manager supports preventive maintenance and deferred maintenance planning, coordinates with campus partners and external vendors, and serves as an essential employee during closures or emergencies.

Required Qualifications
Education
- High School diploma/GED
- Driver’s License
- Universal EPA Certification
- State issued HVAC license with ability to obtain WV license within 90 days of employment.
Experience
- 3 years of experience performing commercial HVAC work.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
Experience managing HVAC operations in a higher education, healthcare, or large institutional facilities environment.
