Role Description
The Commercial HVAC General Manager role is a full-time position based on-site in Phoenix, AZ. Responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of the commercial HVAC division, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget. The role requires developing and managing departmental budgets, leading and mentoring teams, fostering client relationships, and implementing strategies to drive business growth and operational efficiency. The General Manager will also collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with company goals, maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and focus on high-quality service delivery.
Our commercial work is primarily multi-family and light commercial HVAC installation. We do not perform heavy commercial, industrial work, or chiller-based systems.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can both set strategy and execute, build accountability, and drive operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a General Manager or equivalent senior leadership role in construction or HVAC
- Strong background in commercial HVAC installation, ideally with multi-family and light commercial projects
- Demonstrated success growing revenue and scaling operations
- Solid financial acumen with hands-on P&L ownership
- Experience leading teams of similar size (or larger) with multiple concurrent projects
- Strong understanding of estimating, project execution, labor management, and job costing
- Chiller, industrial, or heavy commercial experience not required
