Description
Magnolia Companies has an immediate opening for an HVAC Estimator in our Washington DC office. Our work covers a vast array of high-profile clients in a wide variety of projects including, but not limited to, government local & federal, schools, healthcare, multi-family, pharmaceutical and medical manufacturing. In this role, you will prepare and submit bids for opportunities ranging from $25,000 to $3M.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate and pricing retrofit, plan/specs.
- Design - build projects for plumbing and mechanical scopes.
- Read & review job bid instructions, drawings and specifications.
- Preparing accurate take-off and compiling pricing.
- Utilize software/quick-pen to build estimates (I.E. Bluebeam, Trimble or PlanSwift).
- Work in a team-oriented environment to transition awarded projects to the Project Manager.
- Manage various RFPs (request for proposals).
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred education in Construction Management.
- Preferred journeyman or master license in HVAC a plus.
- 3- 5 years of related experience in the Mechanical & Plumbing estimating process.
- Reliable, detailed oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling several tasks.
- Strong administrative and computer skills for preparing proposals, scopes of work, and schedules.
- Proficient in reading & interpreting architectural and MEP drawings.
- Understand labor units, productivity factors, subcontractor coordination, and material pricing.
- Ability to attend and document findings from job walks and pre-bid site visits.
