The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of technical expertise and an innate passion to build. You will play a critical role in creating and refining processes in order to improve manufacturing safety, quality, and productivity.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Document proper standard time for each unit/job scheduled to be produced at the DB USA.
- Proficient at preparing, checking, and coordinating the release of documentation to support Chillers and AHU Units manufacturing processes.
- Review and analyze engineering drawings and documents as necessary.
- Assure tools and fixtures are on hand and suitable for work.
- Work with the sales & engineering departments to resolve order issues.
- Recommend cost savings and value engineering alternatives for Chillers and AHU Units.
- Provide labor time information to the field sales & service departments for Chillers & AHU Units.
- Provide technical support to sales & service departments on all aspects of repair/install defective components for Chillers & AHU Units.
- Support Customer Visits (factory tours) as necessary.
- Provide support to the development of sales/selection software.
- Strive for continuous improvement and teamwork in product development and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3-5 years or more experience in HVAC manufacturing engineering.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
Required Skills
- Knowledge of refrigerant cycle function and HVAC manufacturing processes
- Exposure to Metal/Mechanical assembly processes
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Exceptional understanding of lean manufacturing principals (e.g., SMED, waste reduction, one piece flow, etc.)
- Experience with time studies, line balancing, labor standards development
- Experience with AutoCAD or other programs for development of plant and work cell layouts
- Use of spreadsheet tools for line balancing and labor analysis
- Ability to use spreadsheets for inventory analysis and warehouse area layouts
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
- At least 1 - 2 years' of engineering experience
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S
