Position Summary
The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the facility. This role ensures residents, staff, and visitors enjoy a safe and comfortable environment by keeping all systems in top working condition and compliant with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration units
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate service records
- Monitor and adjust systems to maintain proper temperature, humidity, and air quality
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and state/federal regulations
- Respond promptly to service requests and emergency repairs
- Coordinate with facility leadership to minimize disruptions and downtime
- Support general maintenance tasks as needed to keep the building operating smoothly
- Maintain inventory of HVAC tools, materials, and replacement parts
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- EPA Refrigeration Certification (Type I and II or Universal) required
- HVAC certification or technical training from an accredited program preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of HVAC experience (healthcare or commercial facility preferred)
- Strong knowledge of system diagnostics, controls, and repair techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a variety of indoor/outdoor environments
