Plumbing Instructor – Hourly Construction Trades Instructor
Location: Burlington County Institute of Technology – Adult Education
Position Summary
- BCIT Adult Education is seeking a skilled and engaging Construction Trades Instructor to teach an entry-level modular evening course for adult learners. The course includes three components—Plumbing & HVAC, Electrical, and Carpentry—and is designed to provide foundational, hands-on training that prepares students for employment or further study in these in-demand trades.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years verifiable work experience in at least two of the following trades: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry
- Competency and working knowledge across all four trade areas
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to effectively teach adult learners with diverse experience levels
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Availability to work evenings as scheduled
Preferred Qualifications
- NJ CTE Certification or ability to obtain in related trades
- Prior teaching, training, or apprenticeship instruction experience
- OSHA 10/30 certification
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate: $39.15/hour
Additional Information
- Must pass criminal history background check
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status required
- NJ residency required within one year of hire
- Drug testing required
