Job Title: Project Manager/Estimator
Location: Woodbridge, VA
Salary Rate: $100,000 - $130,000
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Estimator/Project Manager to support both pre-construction and project execution. This role combines technical estimating expertise with hands-on project leadership to ensure accurate bids, successful delivery, and strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed HVAC cost estimates
- Perform material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor take-offs
- Solicit, analyze, and compare vendor and subcontractor proposals
- Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposal packages
- Identify value engineering options that reduce cost without compromising quality
- Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost records
Project Management
- Manage HVAC projects from award through closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and milestones
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, engineers, and internal teams
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted work
- Track progress, costs, and change orders to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, codes, and safety standards
- Conduct site visits and participate in project meetings
- Troubleshoot project challenges and proactively mitigate risks
Financial & Administrative
- Monitor job costs, profitability, and financial performance
- Prepare and review RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Support billing, invoicing, and project reporting
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 3-7+ years of experience in HVAC estimating and/or project management
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, installation practices, and industry standards
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., FastPIPE, Trimble, Bluebeam)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
- Valid driver's license
