Seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for one of our top clients based in NYC. You will work on a variety of projects operating in a position of both production and project management.
Responsibilities -
- Support mechanical design for commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects
- Prepare HVAC load calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections
- Develop drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Perform field surveys and site assessments to verify existing conditions
- Coordinate designs with architectural, electrical, structural, and specialty teams
- Assist in developing project schedules and tracking deliverables
- Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs during construction
- Participate in client meetings and project coordination sessions
- Support QA/QC reviews to ensure code compliance and design accuracy
Qualifications -
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 3–7 years of experience in HVAC/mechanical building systems design
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit; experience with load calculation software
- Understanding of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and local NYC requirements
- Ability to produce detailed mechanical plans and documentation
- Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience supporting construction administration tasks (RFIs, submittals, site visits)
- EIT or progress toward PE licensure preferred
