Maintenance Manager – Renewable Energy Facility (Relocation Assistance Provided!)
Location: Between Hattiesburg, MS & Mobile, AL
TRC’s client, a leading renewable energy facility, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join one of their top-performing plants. This site features new equipment, a strong technical team, and a culture of excellence and teamwork. The previous manager was promoted to corporate — creating an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader ready to step in and maintain the high standards of performance and reliability.
As Maintenance Manager, you’ll oversee daily maintenance operations to ensure the plant safely produces high-quality wood pellets that meet production and quality goals. You’ll guide a skilled team of mechanics and electricians while driving continuous improvement in reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Corporate Reliability team to implement proactive maintenance strategies that minimize downtime, reduce costs, and optimize technician and asset utilization.
- Collaborate with manufacturing leaders to ensure production targets and quality standards are met.
- Provide technical leadership to eliminate repeat failures and increase Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable a team of 15–17 mechanics and electricians, ensuring all work is performed safely and to standard.
- Oversee rapid response to unplanned equipment issues—leading through coordination, not by doing it all yourself.
- Ensure ongoing safety, training, and certification compliance for all maintenance staff.
- Conduct performance reviews, manage schedules, and coordinate with other Area Managers to align maintenance priorities.
- Lead daily and shift turnover meetings to communicate results, safety issues, and production updates.
- Own and maintain the performance of plant systems such as boilers, compressors, and HVAC systems.
- Manage spare parts organization, usage tracking, and cost control practices.
- Utilize systems including Microsoft Office, Power BI, Rockwell VantagePoint, and D365 EAM for tracking, reporting, and analytics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline (preferred) and 7+ years of supervisory experience in maintenance/reliability, or equivalent combination of 10+ years of experience and education.
- Demonstrated success leading maintenance teams and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to implement Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.
- Track record of developing and motivating teams through strong leadership and communication.
- Experience using data and reliability metrics to drive performance and reduce equipment losses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of time-, condition-, and predictive-based maintenance methodologies.
- Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) pillars in a process environment.
- Familiarity with Analytical Process Mapping and root cause analysis tools.
