Job Title: Sales Leader / Sales Director
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Leader / Sales Director to lead our Aftermarket and Rentals sales organization, driving growth across both service contract and equipment rental portfolios. This pivotal role will oversee the full commercial strategy and execution for contract sales (longer-cycle, recurring service agreements) and rental operations (short-cycle, quick-turn business), serving a diverse range of customers. This role demands a proactive, energetic leader who understands both short-cycle transactional sales and strategic contract selling, capable of navigating complex client environments and building partnerships.
This leader will be responsible for driving profitable growth through the sale of service contracts (aftermarket sales) and equipment rentals for planned projects, outages, and emergency response applications. You will manage the P&L for the Rentals and Aftermarket Sales teams, ensuring strong commercial discipline, sales execution, and operational alignment to achieve budget and growth targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and develop a team of sales professionals across contract and rental sales.
- Define and execute strategic sales plans to deliver growth in service contracts and rental revenues.
- Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Service teams to align customer offerings and execution.
- Manage and report on performance against KPIs, budgets, and profitability targets.
Sales Execution
- Oversee both short-cycle rental sales (emergency and planned projects) and longer-cycle service contract sales (aftermarket generator maintenance, HVAC, or power systems).
- Drive sales pipeline performance using CRM systems, ensuring accurate forecasting and actionable reporting.
- Work closely with facilities engineers, operations staff, and procurement teams within customer organizations.
- Support field visits and customer meetings with sales staff to develop relationships and close opportunities.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Ensure commercial rigor in contract structuring, pricing, and risk management.
- Develop business cases and ROI models to support strategic initiatives.
- Team Development & Culture
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and performance excellence.
- Coach and mentor team members to develop sales capability and commercial acumen.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration with adjacent business units.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ leadership experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a management or director-level role.
- Proven track record of delivering growth in aftermarket/service contract and rental sales environments.
- Experience managing sales in industrial equipment, HVAC, construction equipment, batteries, or power generation sectors.
- Strong commercial management mindset – focused on deliverables, accountability, and results.
- Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics) and reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate adjacent businesses and collaborate across departments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first approach.
- Willingness to travel with sales teams and engage directly with clients in the field.
