An industry leading and nationally recognized organization is seeking an Operations Maintenance Manager to lead the operations of a premier mixed-use luxury destination in Fairfax County, VA. The senior-level Operations Manager will be the central force behind the property’s overall operations, maintenance, and five-star experience delivery across all verticals. This is an on-site position that requires hands-on experience and confidence in taking ownership and accountability of a large scale property and key features.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for managing all aspects of facility services including but not limited to: maintenance, electrical, plumbing, janitorial, etc.
- Manage the property's work order system, ensuring all internal and external requests are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Advise ownership and asset management teams on matters related to development, construction, and building systems, offering strategic recommendations that support long-term value.
- Ensure compliance across all safety and regulatory standards, including hazardous materials management, insurance requirements, and risk management protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all property systems, including operation instructions, maintenance schedules, repair records, and vendor certifications.
- Monitor building infrastructure systems like energy management, safety, security, and emergency response, ensuring any deficiencies are quickly addressed.
- Conduct regular facility management, inspections of all common areas, facilities, and building systems, identifying opportunities for upgrades, preventative maintenance, and capital improvement projects.
- Lead administration of preventative maintenance programs, maintaining all required logs and compliance records.
- Direct emergency preparedness and crisis management planning, including fire and safety systems, evacuation protocols, and incident responses.
- Partner with ownership and asset management to assess and pursue capital planning needs, identifying enhancements that increase asset value and long-term sustainability.
- Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, and innovation across the property operations team, ensuring alignment with luxury service standards and organizational goals.
Must Have Qualifications:
- 8–10+ years of experience in senior facilities, property, luxury hospitality, or mixed-use operations leadership.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced certifications such as RPA, CPM, or CFM are a plus.
- Expertise in managing complex, large-scale environments with multiple asset types and high-volume foot traffic. (Preferably properties with over 1M square feet)
- Technical knowledge of facilities and engineering systems (HVAC, life safety, capital infrastructure) and the ability to lead related initiatives.
- Proven leadership skills in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, with strong communication across executive and community channels.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and partner on capital project development and execution.
- Financial proficiency in P&L ownership, budgeting, and vendor negotiation.
- Ability to work on-site M-F + being on call for emergencies
