The Sturgis Buffalo Chip is looking for a skilled, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance and Grounds Manager to join our team and help keep the grounds and facilities running smoothly — before, during, and after the world's greatest motorcycle and music festival.
About the Role: As the Maintenance and Grounds Manager, you’ll oversee the upkeep, repair, and improvement of the Buffalo Chip’s extensive property and infrastructure. From managing seasonal and full-time crews to troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that the Chip delivers a world-class experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise maintenance grounds staff as well as contractors
• Schedule and perform regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
• Manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general infrastructure systems
• Prepare for large-scale events, including setup and teardown
• Oversee inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment
• Ensure safety and compliance with all regulations
• Respond to emergencies and on-call issues as needed
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience in maintenance, facilities, or construction management
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Ability to manage teams and work independently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
• Flexible schedule, especially during the Sturgis Rally season
• CDL or heavy equipment experience is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
