The Estimator will play a vital role in analyzing project documents, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with the design and field teams to ensure successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Assemble accurate and timely estimates for Stipulated Price, Design-Build, and Construction/Project Management projects.
- Provide clear, detailed quantity take-offs.
- Write, detailed, project specific, scopes of work for proposals.
- Organize subcontractor quotations, negotiate pricing, and issue documented purchase orders.
- Calculate and track all material, labor, and project costs.
- Develop complete project budgets and cost breakdowns.
- Consult with design teams, field staff, and subject matter experts to ensure accurate estimates.
- Work with field personnel to address pricing or cost concerns.
- Maintain unit pricing and cost databases.
- Participate in client meetings to discuss project options and budget guidelines.
- Support project progress by providing well-documented files and cost records.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven estimating experience, including projects up to $2 million.
- Experience in the ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) building sectors preferred.
- Strong math, science, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and spreadsheet design.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Degree or certificate in engineering, architecture, or construction management is an asset.
